There's no higher-impact way for a business to give back to society than through pro bono. For nonprofits and communities, the value of skilled support can be 500% greater than the value of traditional volunteering. As we face tough economic and social challenges, the talent of corporate America’s best and brightest is needed now more than ever.
A Billion + Change was delighted to partner with Deloitte, Fairfax Chamber, George Mason University and Fairfax County Government for a pro bono summit to kick-off National Volunteer Week on April 22, 2013.
In just a short time, more than 340 of America's favorite brands--43 in the D.C. Metro Area alone-- have taken A Billion + Change's pledge to donate their best talent to tackle tough problems in their communities and around the world. At this summit, more than 200 businesses and nonprofits gathered to hear from some of the D.C. Metro Area’s leading companies achieving meaningful change in education, childhood hunger and healthcare like Capital One, Deloitte, Raffa, The Advisory Board Company, Acumen, APCO, C.Fox Communications, and more.
CSR practitioners and volunteer leaders also engaged in dynamic breakout sessions on Pro Bono 101, Nonprofit Capacity Building, Building Nonprofit Readiness to Receive Pro Bono, and advancing education, access to quality healthcare and sustainability through skills-based service.
